intro -------------------------------------------------

The idea of translation and the notion of narrative, and more precisely, the notion of a narrative translated is a recurrent motif in my work.
I am interested in how meaning is displaced, in how discursive circumstances are re-contextualized through memory, recognition, and the natural opacity of language.

I tend to catalogue, classify, appropriate, read, misread, and re-tell.

This might have to do with conceiving Art as a big déjà vu.
For the shadow of the past looms over everything, and perhaps knowledge is nothing but remembrance and novelty is nothing but oblivion.

Nonetheless, difference is created in this repetition.

And to repeat is not necessarily a desire to return.

All in all, the strategic emphasis in producing the work is not primarily placed on the transmission of information, but rather on how meaning is felt.
